Practice management is a complicated but important topic not covered in medical school, residency, or fellowship training, and therefore frequently learned the hard way—by experience. Fortunately, books on this topic help physicians avoid the most obvious pitfalls. Only a reviewer would read Farber's book cover to cover, but it is the most comprehensive of the many similar books I have read.
The first part, on practice management, meets the book's goal of providing "a storehouse of reliable information for the literally hundreds of management decisions doctors must make in the course of their medical careers." This part begins with choosing
