Like good wine, a good textbook improves with age. Such is the situation with the second edition of this book, as one would suspect by looking at the classy and distinctive cover. There are few American-authored full-length textbooks of dermatology and this book is unique in that it consists of individually tailored essays that do not follow a rigid form. Such individuality could cause havoc in a multiauthored book (there are 76 contributors). In this instance, the editors are to be congratulated for producing an easily read and informative two-volume book. I felt that the first edition was not up
