The question of whether a concept of geriatric heart disease was used by geriatricians during the 1960s and 1970s has now largely been resolved in the affirmative. This book helps resolve a conflict that was extremely divisive and is a useful reference book for physicians confronted with treating the aging heart. There are four sections in the book: physiology and epidemiology, diagnostic techniques, characteristics of heart disease, and therapy.
