WarfCalc offers a Bayesian forecasting algorithm for predicting the warfarin dose necessary to achieve any target ratio between the control and the patient's prothrombin time. Ancillary functions of the program predict the prothrombin time ratio of a particular dose of warfarin; maintain records of previous warfarin dose and prothrombin response; and provide printouts of drug interactions, signs and symptoms of bleeding, and instructions for the patient.
In general, the program does predict dose-response relationships for warfarin. Predictions from the computer model are similar to retrospectively obtained prothrombin time ratios, and r values of 0.64 or 0.84 are achieved by basing
