As more drug products are introduced, the practitioner must have rapid access to drug information. Through detailed monographs, prepared and extensively reviewed by expert advisory panels, this book reviews most prescription and over-the-counter products available in the United States. Volume 2, Advice for the Patient, provides corresponding information in lay language for the consumer.
The monographs are arranged alphabetically by generic name; however, drugs with similar chemical structures, such as the benzodiazepines, are presented in the same section. A list of common brand names precedes the monographs. The monographs are similar in format to the Physicians' Desk Reference and include
