How often do two new major reference books surface in one year? This may be the year of the dog, or the dragon, in an oriental calendar, but in the English-language world of medicine it might be marked as the year of the big book, nay, two big books: a new medical dictionary on a scale and scope never seen before in English, and a mini-encyclopedia of medicine unlike any other major medical reference work available.
Does the world of medicine need another medical dictionary in English, and at what price? A thorough answer to this question might call for
