One of the attractions of hematology is the beauty of stained blood cells. Most atlases of hematology seek to project this beauty in a didactic fashion so that the student can recognize the abnormalities of the blood cells and base diagnoses on appearance. This book expands the principle by including other images useful in the diagnosis of the clinical syndromes discussed. These features include diagrams of physiology and pathophysiology, pictures of the cutaneous manifestations of hematologic disease, and roentgenograms. The relevance of the pictures is adumbrated by the brief text that accompanies them.
