The authors stress that more energetic self-instruction by physicians is necessary for improved continuing education. Effective methods for ongoing educational efforts are highlighted through interviews with over 600 physicians and accompanying personal essays from the likes of Braunwald, Hurst, and Sabiston. Most appealing to physicians with an academic interest in the process and content of medical education.
