The first edition was favorably reviewed in Annals. Authors who find that journal editors increasingly expect them to provide confidence intervals as part of statistical assessments should find particularly useful the 27-page chapter in this edition; journal readers who are uncertain as to the meaning of "confidence interval" should find it useful too.
