A 3 year old patient's right ear was bitten off by her family dog, leaving only the lobule in place. In the operating room, several vessels 0.2-0.5 mm in diameter were identified in the ear segment, but arteries and veins could not be distinguished. After trimming, the ear was sutured in place. A tiny artery (0.4 mm) and two veins (0.3 and 0.4 mm) in the lobule were joined to vessels in the ear segment; two additional veins in the ear segment (0.5 and 0.6 mm) were joined to functioning superficial veins.
