To the Editor: In the article by Simon and Hyman (1), the map of the geography and political boundaries of Afghanistan is incorrect. On the map, the area of Jammu and Kashmir, which is a disputed territory, has been shown as part of India. According to a resolution of the United Nations, the final status of this area is yet to be decided. Moreover, all of the publications of the United Nations and the major publishers of these maps have indicated the disputed nature of Kashmir by inserting explanatory notes in their maps.
