Although this book appears from its title to have been written for persons who need to acquire conceptual equipment for the proper conduct of research, the authors have sought, rather, to speak to "consumers of research," physicians and other professionals who should know how to assess the value of research reports they read in journals. They consider the processes used in drawing conclusions, kinds and uses of study designs, and statistical interpretation and flaws.
