The opening section of color illustrations of gross specimens and histologic sections representing the main types of cystic lesions of the kidney is followed by nine chapters that progress from the simple cyst, through cysts with neoplasm, polycystic diseases, medullary lesions, to cysts of the renal sinus. Each chapter considers definitions, pathology, clinical manifestations, and radiologic features seen with all contemporary imaging methods, including angiography, computed tomography, and ultrasound scans.
