The scope of cardiac catheterization procedures continues to broaden as new techniques are developed and new applications are defined. This relevant and up-to-date book should become popular with those involved in cardiac catheterization. Forty-one authors from over 20 institutions have contributed to 33 chapters, and the editors share authorship on 11 of these. This diversity is a strength.
Most of the chapters have descriptions of procedure essential for the novice to learn but may also provide new perspectives for persons experienced in catheterization. Methods for venous and arterial access, direct left ventricular puncture, transseptal catheterization, endomyocardial biopsy, and pericardiocentesis
