To the Editor: Drs. Geokas and Branson (1) have presented a practical approach to premedical counseling and preparation; however, they are evidently not aware of a related, older effort going on in their own back yard. The program, termed "Health Sciences Practicum," is held in a local resource they did not discuss, the community teaching hospital, and has proved to be valuable for preparing and providing career guidance to pre-health science candidates.
