Although this little manual is directed to patients' needs and potential questions, it covers in a question-and-answer format many matters on which many physicians are ill informed. The topics range from admission to discharge, from pregnancy and birth to death, and include informed consent, experimentation, medical records, autopsies, and malpractice. The appendixes include a sample living will and a durable power of attorney. Each chapter is backed up with a generous supply of references (to both legal and medical literature) and notes; the medical references are unfortunately cast in a legal format and will look odd to medical readers of
