In expressing her opinion of a play, Tallulah Bankhead reportedly said,"There is less here than meets the eye." After reviewing this book, I know what she meant.
This book appeared to be promising: The long-term consequences of surviving a disease that, not too long ago, was considered uniformly fatal is a good topic for a book, and oncologists are distinguished from other physicians by their focus on long-term follow-up. The experienced editors represent two major cancer centers; I had hoped that this book would include updated data from both centers. Unfortunately, the book includes very little new data.
