Bookstores have stacks of books with messages for patients and would-not-be-patients on cutting the risk for developing coronary artery heart disease. Some are clear, detailed, and reliable; many are not. Kwiterovich's book can be recommended. It covers all that can and need be said for its readers: risks, genetics, biochemistry, exercise, diet, food content, recipes. It is a clear and low-key exposition, not an evangelic harangue. It should be effective with college graduates, but it will probably be too detailed for readers with smaller vocabularies and little knowledge of human biology.
