To the Editors: The article by Dr. Fye (1) is a useful addition to the literature on the subject of authorship. Young investigators, however, are not inclined to prioritize the reading of such articles over those dealing with therapeutic and diagnostic advances. Moreover, trainees learn predominantly by seeing and imitating what their mentors and role models do. This process includes the development of attitudes toward authorship practices. Simply put, actions speak louder than words.
I have tried to bring the authorship issue to light in a rather simple (simplistic?) way by requesting that all manuscripts be matched by a form
