From a British obstetrician and four of his Edinburgh colleagues in geriatrics, pediatrics, adolescent medicine, and hospice care comes a small interview text meant to enhance clinical problem-solving skills and promote a "more sensitive and empathetic clinical style." Talking skills, in the three-function interview model, can improve students' information gathering, relationship building, and diagnostic-treatment planning.
The communication techniques and interpersonal skills are all illustrated or mentioned, but not all of today's interview topics are included. In addition, the author's colleagues offer sections on talking to children, adolescents, the elderly, and the dying with references to how communication must be tailored
