If your approach to nutritional support does not go beyond ordering a randomly selected canned formula delivered through a nasogastric tube, you don't need this book. This text is a compendious resource for sophisticated prescribers of enteral nutritional support: all you might wish to know about enteral nutrition between two covers. No fewer than 59 authors contributed to 30 chapters.
No important subject is omitted. Some chapters deal with such intensely scientific matters as the physiology of digestion and energy metabolism. There are small treatises on strictly practical matters like the techniques of intubation and the composition of available formulas.
