True to his stated purpose, Dr. Mundy provides a simple, straightforward presentation of the physiologic mechanisms that regulate extracellular fluid calcium concentration and the diseases known to perturb calcium homeostasis. The book comprises 11 chapters that, for the most part, are exceptionally well written and well developed. The author has a most lucid and consistent style, which renders most chapters effortlessly readable. However, it did take time getting used to the fact that the references for each chapter are located in a reference section at the end of the book.
