A well-established, truly comprehensive textbook. This edition carries substantial changes. Some diseases have been promoted into full chapters, notably for a nontropical readership, both Lyme disease and cryptosporidiosis. Clinical practices in major clinical disciplines get more attention. Although the focus necessarily stays on the viral, bacterial, and invertebrate infections and infestations that dominate tropical medicine, this book is indeed a text for clinicians and not just a monograph for parasitologists and epidemiologists.
