Thoughtful and detailed discussion of relations between the patient seeking plastic surgery and the surgeon and what each needs to know. Also discussed are the pitfalls in the relationship: the initial consultation; concepts, technical and esthetic, of the surgery; the types of operations and their relation to types of patients; and the professional growth of the plastic surgeon. Although this book is obviously directed to present and would-be plastic surgeons, there is much in it relevant to patient-physician relations in other fields.
