Why should anyone wish to read yet another history of a medical school? Most of them do little more than tell a chronologic story and cite documents possibly useful to a real historian writing about a bigger picture at some future time. These histories tend to glorify yet another school cut from the same pattern, to sell well only to alumni, and to collect dust in a few historical collections. Why, then, review this story of the founding of McMaster?
Medical schools, like most human institutions, go on for years with no, or little, change; however, one can find exceptions.
