Although most of the content is relevant mainly to those who apply statistical methods in clinical research, the book will be of value to other kinds of authors and to readers of the medical literature. The chapters on decision analysis, medical technology assessment, guidelines for reporting in journal articles of statistics and of methods in clinical trials, style guidelines for writing about numbers, and meta-analyses of randomized control trials may be useful to a wider audience. Nine of the 23 chapters were prepared for this edition or substantially revised from the first edition.
