TO THE EDITOR:
I congratulate Dr. Ernst for his unique attempt to tell the truth about the causes of the downfall of the notorious Viennese Faculty of Medicine [1]. The atrocities committed by the Nazis during World War II directly or indirectly affected many superb medical schools. As a graduate of the Academy of Medicine in Sofia, Bulgaria, I absorbed, although indirectly, the knowledge and profound clinical experience of the Viennese School because many of my professors are graduates of or were influenced by this great medical institution.
